Through learning relaxation and self hypnosis techniques you will feel confident, calm and well prepared during pregnancy, ready for birth and have a useful ‘trick up your sleeve’ to use in day to day life thereafter.
Hypnobirthing® can help you to achieve a normal, natural birth if that is possible and right for you and your baby.
Hypnosis comes from the greek word ‘hypnos’ or sleep.
Hypnosis is actually far from being asleep, but by the time the early users of hypnosis realised this and tried to change the name it had already become fashionable.
Hypnosis is a relaxed state of mind similar to day dreaming, in which the mind is concentrated and acutely aware and where change can happen quickly.
It is a non addictive strength for the good and positive, no drugs are used, and it is completely self directed.
You have to want it, expect it and allow it to happen.
Self hypnosis can be a way for you to relax and encourage positive changes to happen, by believing in your own strength and imagination.
Evening classes might seem like a good idea ‘to fit it all in’ but in practice after a busy day you can both just feel too tired and not get the best out of the course.
If at all possible, i advise you to do the course during the day, remember it is only 5 sessions!
One session per week will give you both plenty of time to practice, practice is vital and fun.
As with anything worth doing, it takes time to learn.
